Qualifications: NZRN, NP, MHealSc (Nursing – Clinical), PGCert (Nursing Leadership & Management)

Bio: Toni is a highly skilled career professional with over 30 years’ experience in nursing within hospital environments, and over 35 years’ experience as a pre-hospital emergency care provider in primary care environments (Order of St John).

Toni currently is a member of the Southern Critical Care Flight team – flying to retrieve acutely unwell patients as part of a Nurse Practitioner/flight nurse or NP / flight paramedic team on both rotary & fixed wing aircraft, and participating in nurse-directed interhospital transfers.

Toni is currently the only NP working inside an ICU within NZ, and is part of the RMO clinical roster responsible for triaging referrals & attending in-hospital patient emergencies.

Her topics include: 

• Preparing patients for air retrieval
• Trauma assessment and care of the trauma patient
