Bio:
Guy trained in medicine in Liverpool in England and moved to New Zealand in 2009 which is when he discovered the RNZCUC. He has worked in urgent care since, and in 2020 became the Director of Professional Development at the RNZCUC. This role oversees the ongoing CPD requirements for the urgent care recertification programme. He also has a teaching role at the University of Auckland’s Department of GP and Primary Care and convenes an interprofessional simulation course for final year medical, nursing, and pharmacy students. He enjoys finding ways to simplify medical education and make ongoing CPD requirements engaging, relevant and thought provoking. Since 2018, he has produced a weekly CPD podcast for the RNZCUC.

- Community urgent care – eg, injury management and acute illness from the initial presentation onwards
- Dealing with uncertainty in the community eg, how to identify areas of weakness and work within these to achieve safe patient outcomes
