Clinical Psychologist, Auckland District Health Board Researcher - University of Auckland

Bio: Ruth has been a district health board clinical psychologist in adult community mental health for decades, including group and individual DBT. She completed a PhD in 2011, and now combines part-time clinical work with education (on mental health, BDP and qualitative research methods), research projects, and peer review for academic and community organisations.

Her topics include:

• Too worried? Stress, anxiety and panic attacks
• Too sad? Depression and grief
• Too prickly? Responding to people who seem hard to help (eg. “heartsink”, personality disorder)
