Geoff is both NZ Māori and Cook Islands Māori. He has been living with HIV for 28yrs. He has been an advocate and educator in the HIV sector and was the first Cook Islander to speak publicly about living with HIV. Leading a quiet life these days, he works in healthcare as a Registered Nurse and still finds opportunities to educate and change peoples’ attitudes.

Abby Leota has worked in and around the HIV sector for 20 years, specifically sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is an
active member, and past Board Member for Positive Women Inc – a support organisation for women and families living with HIV in Aotearoa. Abby is passionate about ending late HIV diagnosis and HIV related stigma in healthcare.
